Notes

Story Synopsis:
A riveting story of determination, Robots tells the tale of a young robot who takes a stand against upgrades. Rivet Town native Rodney Copperbottom (McGregor) is an inventor who heads to Robot City to meet his hero, Bigweld (Brooks). But he is faced with a corrupt corporation that wants to rid the world of repairable “Rusty” bots and their replacement parts; thus creating an all-new world filled with upgrades! (Suzanne Hodges)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture looks fantastic and is a surefire pleaser for the whole family. You will go nuts over the vibrant color scheme that pops from the screen. The picture is sharp and nicely detailed, with a fantastic sense of dimension. On occasion, picky viewers may notice a slight smeared or blurred effect at times, but the look does not screw up the visual experience. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
Both the Dolby® Digital and DTS® Digital Surround™ soundtracks use a wide front soundstage and an impressive use of the LFE channel throughout the presentation. Surrounds are used to create a more spatial atmosphere, with low level effects and pans across both the front and rear stage. Solid, deep bass is presented through each of the full range channels, often dropping below 30 Hz, and the tight LFE channel really adds to the experience, both with music and effects. The surrounds are ignored at times when the action is indoors, but they are used very well in outdoor scenes. Dialogue sounds good, and is easily distinguishable over the effects in the wide front stage. Although the entire soundfield is engaging, it can sound slightly veiled in the Dolby track, and is cleaned up significantly in the DTS track, with better articulation and dynamics that bring more life to the soundtrack. (Danny Richelieu)
