Mr. Big is blackmailing CONTROL: unless they pay him $100,000,000 he will use the ""Inthermo Ray"" to destroy the Statue of Liberty. Max teams up with Fang and a new partner, Agent 99, to stop Mr. Big.

Numerous blondes have been kidnapped and Smart is assigned to protect a beautiful diplomat's daughter. He discovers the KAOS lair and tangles with The Claw, capturing him and his henchmen.

Smart goes undercover at the CONTROL spy school to find an undercover KAOS spy.

KAOS is secretly smuggling secrets out of the country. 99 discovers they are using a Department Store as a front and Polly Dollys to smuggle out the secrets. When one pulls the doll's string, Polly reveals top secrets. Max and 99 get caught by KAOS. Using children's toys, Max and 99 attempt to fight their way to safety and stop KAOS' smuggling ring.

A doctor meets Max at his apartment and convinces him that he has escaped from KAOS with an invisibility ray. KAOS then attempts to kidnap Max as tries to figure out if the ray is real.

Indians threaten to use a bomb if they don't get all of their land back. Smart then goes into their camp and foils their plan.

Conrol hosted a conference for some of the smarted scientists on the planet, but KAOS has other plans which include a retrogressor gun.

Smart is to testify against KAOS soon, so they devise situations to show that Smart is losing his mind.

KAOS kidnaps the Chief and prepare to give him mind-control surgery. Max pretends to be a doctor in order to try to free the Chief from Harvey Satan.

Enilio Naharana steals a new drug invented by CONTROL named Immobilo, in order to use it against the Ambassador of Pinerovia. Max and 99 disguise themselves in order to save the day.

Alexi Sebastian, a master impersonator, attempts to kill someone who was about to reveal the secret of the KAOS coding system. Alexi disguises himself as the Chief to confuse the situation even more.

Max stumbles upon a shoe store that just happens to be a KAOS communications center. Max is follwed by a KAOS agent who wants to kill him. The arrival of Max's aunt and uncle foil the KAOS agent's plan.

CONTROL couriers are aboard the Orient Express are being murdered in order to prevent them from delivering important information. Max and 99 get into a sticky situation while trying to solve the mystery.

CONTROL agents are found murdered with mysterious puncture marks on their necks. The investigation leads to the mysterious Dr. Drago.

Max has to protect an Arab prince, who must remain fat to retain his power.

Max has to become a broken, drunk agent so that KAOS will probably try to recruit him as one of their agents. He eventually is and has a difficult task.

After several buildings are inexplicably blown up, Control follows the trail to an art gallery where a former chemist, debonair Rex Savage, has teamed up with painter Mondo to produce a series of explosive paintings. 99 disguises as an art expert with Max as her driver/butler as they try to get Savage's fingerprints and photograph, something that turns out to be a little more complicated than expected.

CONTROL tries to find the location of a KAOS communications center, which turns out to be in a pool hall.

KAOS is interested in capturing Dr. Shotwire, a brilliant scientist whose work has been set 6 months back thanks to his bodyguard's helping hands (no other than 86). The KAOS agent in charge of the kidnapping, Natz, also has a vendetta with Max who sent him to prison in the past. Natz's plan involves the latest creation of rogue Dr. Ratton: Hymie a humanoid robot who enters Control as a newbie agent. However no one knows what to expect when Hymie has a drink and gets some quality time with Max.

Max poses as an insane colonel in order to prove that a KAOS psychiatrist is revealing confidential information.

A retired agent and his secret diary are missing.

After being hypnotized by KAOS, Max finds himself in a difficult situation while playing a game of chess.

Max convinces the Chief of taking Fang out of retirement after some Control agents are killed by their own dogs. Each of those agents had left their pets at an animal spa while they were travelling. What they ignored was that the animals were being brainwashed before being returned to their owners. When Fang goes MIA Max disobeys orders and goes after him which causes the Chief to go rescue Max.

A horde of KAOS agents are taking flights to Washington. Each one carries a piece of a bomb which is meant to explode near an American base. Max and the Chief capture one of KAOS's agents and fool-force confidential information out of him. They end up in Blue Mist Mountain and it's up to 86 to dismantle the bomb before it goes off. All the help he has is Parker on the shoe-phone, a coin, and a very expensive tie.

The Claw is back, and planning to lead Max into his deadly trap. His scheme leads Max and 99 to San Francisco as they follow a Chinese agent (Number 3) in the hopes that this will lead them to Number One (Claw), the mastermind behind a smuggling operation that uses a laundromat as facade (though the real money is actually in the laundry). However Max gets help from Harry Who, a chinese police inspector with a keen eye for detail and two possibilities to explain anything.

Max and the Chief disguise themselves as concert critics as they go in the aid of Hubert, a violin virtuoso who has been working undercover to find the identity of KAOS's Big Boss. Just before Hubert is able to give his report he is killed but first hides a clue in the form of writen music. Max must then stop pianist Wolenska from being killed by a bomb planted in the piano on which he will perform Hubert's last symphony, a desperate attempt of the Big Boss to keep his identity secret.

Ahoy mate! Max's new assignment has him in a boat where he must find the blueprints of a super weapon while watching his back from a mysterious killer who makes a peculiar clip-clop sound, which is not that much help as every single passenger and crew member make that sound.

99's quick and clever reactions save Max from drowning. Back on the ship, Max talks with the captain who offers his assistance after finding out the reason he can never understand his aide. To make matters worse, 44 has finally had it. Not only Max cracks his super secret message, but he's tired of working hidden, not being able to eat at the captain's table, it's a boring job... As if it wasn't bad enough, he gets shot and Max finally discovers who the killer is, though it may be too late for him.

Fashion model Mildred Spencer telephones Smart that the supersonic plans are sewn into a dress.

A swimmer on the Russian national team calls Max for help, but unfortunately he forgets her name.

KAOS reprograms Hymie to murder the Chief. After Max foils the attempt, and unable to go through dismantling him, he hides Hymie in his apartment. Posing as Max's cousin, Hymie meets the Chief's daughter who immediately becomes smitten with the robot. KAOS again reprograms Hymie, and this time, he's out to kill Max!

An agent dies, which leaves Max in charge of the "Spy's Guild" labor negotiations.

A series of kidnapping take place between KAOS and CONTROL, masterminded by Siegfried. So many kidnappings take place, no one is left but Siegfried and Maxwell Smart, who must negotiate the trade of captured agents.

Max is almost killed but then CONTROL pretends that he is dead so he can complete a secret mission to protect the IRS from a bomb planted by a KAOS agent known only as the Blaster.

Max has to impersonate a safe cracker named Jimmy Ballantine. He has his face wrapped in bandages so KAOS won't recognise him. 99 poses as a manicurist & agent 13 is in the towel steamer. Control believes the barber shop is a KAOS front. The KAOS agents want Max to open the vault of a federal reserve bank. 99 doesn't know which one,so the Chief has all the banks vaults left unlocked. Max opens the vault, KAOS guys are removing the money & plan to kill Max,when he gets the drop on them & their plan backfires. 99 & the Chief arrive & Max accidentaly locks the Chief in the vault.

After he is ordered to go on vacation, Max pursues the Choker to Casablanca, where he unknowingly meets 99.

CONTROL makes KAOS believe that Max is carrying a secret code.

Max and Harry Hoo try to solve a murder of an agent in a tropical hotel, but their suspects keep turning into victims.

Max and Agent 99 are captured by a KAOS sub commanded by Siegfried.

86 and 99 are stranded on a KAOS controlled island where they must fight for their lives.

Max has to learn about art in order to try to capture an art thief.

Max is following a Kaos agent who is smuggling a parrot. While questioning the parrot he is freed by his lawyer and Max and 99 trail him to a pet shop. Max learns that the pet shop is a cover for Melnick, the Smiling Killer. They learn that the parrots are being used to memorize secret information and then smuggled out of the country.

While carrying plans for a nuclear reactor, Max runs into KAOS Agents, so he must hide the plans. Max later has to pretend to be a convict and go to jail to get them back.

A women pretends to be in love with Max in order to try to kill him.

Octavia is destroying all of the number two men of CONTROL, so Hymie becomes the new number two man.

KAOS puts up a reward to kill Max an announces that their annual party will be canceled if they don't kill him, only causing more trouble for Max.

The Senate is close to closing down CONTROL which leads to some agents working with KAOS.

CONTROL works with the Israelis to protect an Arab prince, but everything goes wrong.

KAOS is smuggling agents into the country in mummy cases.

Max is assigned to protect Miss USA, but KAOS has other plans.

When a Control agent is killed (made to look like an accident) while undercover, Max is assigned to investigate his death and to find out how a man name Frank Lloyd Joshua is causing high-rise buildings to explode.

86 overhears a plot to kill scientists but Max suffers amnesia in a car crash. KAOS uses a creative way to protect this information.

A British scientist who came to America to reveal a new rocket fuel formula hides at Max's apartment as KAOS tries everything they can to capture him and steal the formula.

Max and 99 are saved by Siegfried, who wants to defect. The Chief doesn't trust Siegfried until he starts to sell important information about KAOS.

Once KAOS gets a nuclear bomb, they try to blackmail the world into disarmament, but Max and 99 are sent to save the day.

After important scientists begin to go missing, Max and 99 go undercover to solve the mystery.

KAOS steals a water evaporation formula (DRY-UP) and blackmails the country by threatening to dry up all its water.

Admiral Hardgrade, CONTROL's first chief, is appointed by the president to take charge of CONTROL during this crisis. He sends the Chief, Max and 99 into the field to interview Bediyoskin and learn who's behind the DryUp caper.

KAOS attempts to kill the Chief in his hospital room, but a sharp-eyed 99 foils the plot. Investigating a clue at Three Brothers Omniwash, Max and 99 discover TBO means T.B.Orlando, a Hollywood executive. Or does it? When Orlando turns up dead, Max and 99 must find the truth before KAOS dries up the Mississippi River.

KAOS's League of Impersonators are serving as duplicates for CONTROL agents, trying to steal the plans for a warhead and wreak havoc at CONTROL. After the real Max kidnapped and is replaced by an impostor, he manages to escape and a committee has to determine which is the real Max!

Max and 99 travel to San Saludas after being contacted by the daughter of the President of San Saludas who is being held prisoner by General Pajarito. Max and 99 meet their contact who tells them that the President is in the dungeon.

Max is set to testifie against Kaos Agent Elwood Tudbury.However Kaos is determined to stop him at all cost.

Max's new informer promises to deliver evidence implicating the top leader of KAOS, though it turns out that the informant has long been dead. Max must hold a seance to get his evidence.

With a cutback at control, everyone is taking on extra jobs.

KAOS attacks the CONTROL headquarters with a sonic boom and threatens to use it on New York City.

A country singer accidentally swallows a KAOS transmitter disguised as an olive. Max has to protect her from KAOS agents.

KAOS designs the world's strongest robot.

Max and 99 go to Lost Lake to track down the person who is sabotaging missile launches.

The British CONTROL needs Max to go undercover.

Max & 99 have to infiltrate a motorcycle gang called the ""Purple Knights"", because Control believes they kidnapped the Prime Minister of a foreign country while Max was guarding him.

Max gets poisoned by a female KAOS agent and has to search for an antidote.

When a top CONTROL scientist dies, it turns out that he wasn't the real brains behind the operations.

Max travels to Coronia to protect the King of Coronia from the King's evil half-brother Basil

Many of the country's teenagers are dancing constantly, under the spell of the Groovy Guru, who is helping KAOS take over the country via its teenagers. The Guru plans to incite the nation's youth to riot and destroy all government institutions.

Max receives a visit from his Army buddy Sid Krimm.Before he arrives however,a woman defecter from Kaos shows up to give Max a little Black Book that contains the names of various Kaos Agents.

Having found out that Max is a Spy,Sid who unwittingly gave what he thought was an ordinary Black Book to Kaos Agents.He accompanies Max on their search for the Book,and the infamous Maestro,a Top Kaos Assassin.

In this take-off of The Fugitive series Max is framed by Kaos. He is charged with Bank Robbery,and Murder. This comes about when a one-handed Man (in a Maxwell Smart facemask) shoots the Bank Guard, in front of witnesses who could identify him.

Feeling that she has no future at Control, and no future with Max, 99 decides to leave, and accept the marriage proposal with handsome, wealthy Victor Royale. Max, feeling jealous, goes to pursue 99. Having saved Royale from an assassination attempt, Royale offers Max a job as his bodyguard.

Max,and 99 enjoy their day off at an amusement park.Little do they realize that the Amusement Park is actually a Kaos drop-off place for secret messages.

The Chief tells Max & 99 'Weeknews' magazine is doing a story on Control. Mr Fitzmaurice wants to accompany two Control agents on a case for his story. The Chief selects Max & 99.

Albert Pfister starts to blow up the world using his new silent explosive.

KAOS agents disrupt an international track meet by injuring the U.S. athletes.

The Chief is relieved of Duty as Chief,when he receives a call from what he believes is the President;(actually it is Gorshen a Kaos voice impersonator)informing the Chief as of Today Max is the New Chief.This part of Kaos's plan to infiltrate,and then destroy Control.With Max being in charge Kaos really don't need to plan.

The story spoofs NBC's ""I Spy"" and Robert Culp of that series appears in a cameo role.

CONTROL tries to get files that contain a list of KAOS informers and agents.

The Chief assigns 86 and 99 to retrieve a deadly scientific theory from KAOS. The search takes the CONTROL agents to a TV studio, where they disguise themselves as dancers.

Max and 99 stumble on SIegfried's evil plot to destroy the U.S. potato crop while visiting 99's mother in Idaho.

Max is assigned to protect CONTROL Courier Busby during a plane ride, but Busby mysteriously disappears from the bathroom in mid-flight.

Thirty years earlier bank robbers Connie and Floyd met up with Sam Vittorio, who had robbed 192 banks. Now dying, Vittorio will only reveal the location of his hidden loot to his protégés, who look remarkably like Max and 99.

KAOS is using its League of Bald Headed Men to steal diamonds and smuggle them out of the country and fund their European payroll.

Each time Smart picks a best man for his upcoming wedding to Agent 99, the man meets with a mysterious accident. The Chief deducts that there must be a link between all of the accidents and KAOS because all of Max's prospects are fellow agents. To prevent further loss of manpower a t CONTROL, Hymie is appointed best man. KAOS then reveals it's true interest in Max's choice of best man - nearly to the extinction of CONTROL.

Max fills in at spy school for an afternoon and is forced to deal with two students whose grades are "alarming in disarming and failing in tailing." After a brief disarming session, he assigns 198 and 199 to 99 as she picks up wedding items. Unknown to Max, 99 is also on assignment and is really picking up the Gaul Formula. She spots the tails and believes them to be KAOS agents.

With an attempt to kidnap Admiral Hardgrade in the works, Max has him stay in his apartment.

The big day arrives for Smart and Agent 99, but almost without Smart as he is sidetracked by a bizarre case.

Smart wears a new blazer given to him by a Chinese merchant, Lin Chan. Smart, however, isn't aware he posses a weapon in the blazer, and is mystified as object disappear around him.

When Agent 99 is caught without dessert, she gratefully accepts chocolate mousse from her solicitious neighbor Naomi Farkas. Naomi and her husband Emil are secret KAOS agents who hope to photograph some papers the Chief has with him.

Max as an ensign and the Chief as a yeoman suddenly realize they'd better get off the ship if they are to thwart a KAOS plot.

The Smarts' honeymoon cruise ends when their sailboat blows up. They drift to an uncharted island, which soon proves to be owned by KAOS chief Seigfried.

Max must bring a scientist, Dr. Canyon, into the CONTROL camp. His problems multiply quickly; the invisible doctor turns out to be a pretty woman whose visibility returns just as Agent 99 enters their apartment.

The Chief believes KAOS has set up new communication system, which may be connected with a theatre group. Smart and 99 become thespians even though Smart's dramatic efforts are overly exuberant. The pair makes their debut, unaware that KAOS has discovered their identity and is planning a lethally realistic ending to the third act.

Agent 99's new job is at the Knights Trading Stamp Redemption Center. KAOS uses the center as a means of passing out a new secret weapon to their agents. KAOS agents Marco and Sonja run the center. The Chief has assigned several agents to find the secret weapon. The trail is cold, until 99 accidentally discovers that she is working for the other side.

Smart and 99 pose as a flamenco dancer and a seedy doctor to fool KAOS as both search for hidden gems in Mexico.

When the Smarts learn another center near a golf course has been earmarked for destruction by KAOS at a specific time, they plan to be on the course that day.

The Chief takes up computer dating and winds up dating a gorgeous young woman. The Chief's boss (unseen) orders Max and 99 to follow the Chief to make sure that this romance is not a security risk. 99 also thinks that the Chief should be dating someone more his age, like her mother. The young woman is actually the wife of Dr. Paponickolini, who is giving the Chief a secret formula for eternal youth. The Chief arrives at Max's apartment for a dinner date with 99's mom but instead KAOS shows up and kidnaps 99's mother, thinking she's the wife of Dr. Paonickolini.

The Chief uses a masked costume ball to switch King Charles for Max. Agent 99 soon has dificulty telling the two apart. Unfortunately, KAOS does not have the same problem uncovering the ruse.

99's confusion makes Max jealous and leads to marital coolness in the Smart household. KAOS has a more direct plan to solve the confusion: get rid of them both.

Dr. Erick Zharko and his assistant Bruce wire Max and 99 to a Dr. Frankenstein-like apparatus. Zharko figures that a jolt of his specially controlled electricity will shock Max and 99 into a five year sleep.

Wheelchair bound mastermind Leadside is caught in a robbery by Max and announces a three-part plan. Phase one, he will escape from Max. Phase two, he will destroy CONTROL. Phase three, he will kill Maxwell Smart. After Leadside follows through on Phases One and Two, Max holes up in his apartment, vowing "Leadside will only complete Phase Three over my dead body." This is one of my favorite episodes and Ronald Long is brilliant as Leadside. "My mother gave me Norman." The wheelchair in the back of the truck bit is still side-splittingly funny.

CONTROL corners KAOS Agent Klineschmidt in a house and attempts to take him alive. Before they can do that, he manages to shoot Max in the buttocks. Forced to stay at home, Max amuses himself by using binoculars to spy on the office building across the street. The office he's watching belongs to Otto Greer, who is a government contractor. Top secret papers have been disappearing from his office so the Chief assigns 99 to work undercover as secretary to Greer. Max keeps an eye on 99's progress and discovers too late that Greer is a KAOS agent planning to kill both of them.

Max is assigned to see Agent Kendall safely on a plane to Europe. However, Kendall mysteriously disappears from the airport after being paged. When Max takes the Chief to the airport to find out what happened, the Chief also disappears after being paged.

Smart and the Chief try all the standard escape methods and each time KAOS has Seigfried and his henchman, Starker, block them. The Chief realizes that there must be an informer in the camp and devises a plan to fool the informer.

On a mission for CONTROL to rescue Professor Milo Pheasant, Smart and 99 learn that he is imprisoned within an impregnable glass dome.

When IH Industries acquires KAOS, Max and 99 attempt Operation Baby Buggy Switch to stop the new head of KAOS, Ironhand, a man with an iron fist, from obtaining The Anti-Anti_Anti-Missle-Missle plans.

When KAOS plans to destroy California by smuggling into the country dolls secretly containing the ingredients for the most powerful explosive known to man, Max and The Chief enroll in Miss Valerie's School For Expectant Fathers, convinced that it is a KAOS front.

When The Chief orders Max to romance and betroth Ann Cameron, a beautiful widow suspected of murdering her 12 husbands for the insurance money, which she donates to KAOS, the wedding coincides with The Smarts' first wedding anniversary, much to 99's dismay.

When KAOS heists CONTROL's payrolls, putting it into severe financial straits, The Chief sends Max, disguised as prospector Frogsie Debbs, to Mira Lodo, Mexico, to find Debbs' old partner C. Errol Madre, who posesses the second half of a map that leads to a gold mind that could restore CONTROL's operations.

Because he failed to retrieve a little red book from a Kaos carrier,Max has to train,and recruit three convicts to break into a highly fortified Mansion where the Red Code Book is.

Max and 99 follow the wrong map and end up at KAOS's new HQ instead of the maternity ward.

CONTROL must defeat Simon the Likable while 99 delivers twins.

Mistaken for a doctor and his nurse, Max and 99 are kidnapped and forced to operate on a wounded gangster.

Several agents have been murdered by someone with incredible strength. The only clue is an empty banana peel. It is soon deduced that the killer is an ape.

Max is bewildered when his young contact dies of old age.

Everyone important in Washington suffers bad dreams and the president orders CONTROL to discover why. At that moment, KAOS' Mad Pharmacist Jarvis Pim appears on TV to demand $50 million in ransom. If he doesn't get it, he'll use his new hallucinogenic drug on the entire population of the city. Max and 99 track Pim to the Dartfoot Spring Water Company, where Pim captures them using "the old mortar in the mortar trick."

99 and CIA agent Quigley run into Siegfried and Starker while on a case in Canada. Meanwhile, Max and the Chief are snowed in at Miami, thanks to a KAOS plot.

99 moonlights as the secretary of a radio personality to discover a secret KAOS code.

Max and 99 go to London to investigate a modern-day Jack the Ripper.

Max poses as a wax sculpture of Hitler to spy on a KAOS scientist who brings waxworks to life.

Max is serving as a courier on board an airplane when he is forced to release his package from the plane, sending it to land on the roof of Hester Van Hooten's mansion. The only problem is Van Hooten hasn't allowed visitors to her house in 20 years and she and her brother aren't about to start now.

While attending the funeral of the latest Control Agent who was mysteriously killed,Max,99,and The Chief are shocked to find a carved Headstone with Max's name on it.

Max is assigned to protect Kaos Agent Dietrich.Dietrich has turned informant,and will give testamony on the inner workings of Kaos that would put an end to Kaos.The only obstacle however is a man name Kibbee,a ruthless Kaos assassin who has never failed an assignment.Will Max be able to protect Dietrich,and himself from Kibbee also known as the Exterminator?

Dr. Harper dies, leaving the only sample of his rocket fuel behind and KAOS finds it first. Max and 99 have to pose as a valet and maid at the Bulmanian Embassy to recover the stolen fuel. When 99's mother can't babysit, the Chief and Larabee are forced to take care of the twins so the Smarts can go to work at the embassy. Meanwhile, Max must get into the wine cellar to find the fuel, but the only key is around the neck of the ambassador.

Max comes home from work one evening to find 99 in bed,with a back eye.99 explains it away as nothing.When he inquires about 99's visit to her Mother,99 says that she did'nt feel much like visiting her.This makes Max suspicious,and before he inquires about anything else,the telephone rings.It is the Chief who informs Max that the woman in his Apartment is not 99.This is true since the real 99 is in the Chiefs Office.The Chief lets 99 talk to Max on the telephone,and this confirms to Max that it is the real 99.The Chief will explain everything to Max in the Morning,but that Max should at the present time should pretend that the woman imposter is 99.99 herself explains to the Chief what had happened that morning.While some furnisher men were moving furniture into her,and Max's apartment,the imposter 99 pulls a gun on her.She then instructed 99 to accompany the moving men(who are Kaos agents)back to their secret place.In response 99 punched the imposter,thus giving her the black eye.She w

Max and the Chief investigate a series of security leaks that seem to be connected to a chain of spas.

KAOS Agent Algernon DeGrasse owns a nursery that uses its plants to spy on important people in Washington. After a CONTROL agent disappears, Max goes to work in the nursery to crack the case. While he's working undercover as a Japanese gardener, 99 stocks up on plants for their apartment.

CONTROL must persuade a decendent of Columbus not to sell America to KAOS.

The Chief meets Smart at a public library to recover a book containing names and addresses of CONTROL agents. Max and Larrabee transport the book in an armored car to a bank vault, but Max accidentally locks the vault door on both the Chief and Larrabee. A villian known as the Whip uses a special gong to hypnotizes Max. When he is under the Whip's control, Max steals the NARCO 5-12. Later, with the help of Chief and Larabee, Max is cured and captures the Whip.
