A legendás komédiás, Lenny Bruce egy mocskos lakás vécéjében halt meg 1966-ban, túladagolta magát kábítószerrel. Mozgalmas, ellentmondásos és önpusztító életet élt. Apró mozaikokból, emlékekből áll össze a kép. Kezdetben kisebb bárokban, lebujokban nyomta a showdert. Hamar felfigyeltek a zseniális tehetségre, a gátlástalan fickóra, aki sohasem tett lakatot a szájára. Nem ismert se Istent, se embert, dőlt belőle a trágárság. Amerika élő lelkiismereteként is emlegették. Bruce rémálomszerű világában a legfontosabb szerepet a felesége, a sztiptíztáncosnő Honey játszotta.
