Notes

Story Synopsis:
Any "Star Wars" fan will surely love the animated "Clone Wars - Volume 1." Taking place between Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones and the not-yet-released Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith (which opens May 19, 2005), the Clone Wars continue with the Jedi Knights and the soldiers of the Republic's army battling it out against the Separatists, who are led by the evil Sith Lord. (Tricia Littrell)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced animated 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits excellent image quality, with solid colors that pop from the screen with rich saturation. The animation is sharp and flat, with a more classic style of dimension (like limited gradations, depths-of-field, and shading). There are some halos noticed around edges, but otherwise the picture looks fantastic. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround soundtrack is created with a wide front soundstage, but the dialogue has a strange lispy echo across the front three screen channels, similar to the effect that occurs when you talk into a revolving fan. The soundtrack sounds rather dead in the low-end, without much information below 50 Hz through any of the loudspeakers. There is a slight amount of distortion in the high end as well. This is not an overly enveloping mix by any means. (Danny Richelieu)
