My quick rating - 6,4/10. Borderline horror due to a giant shark attacking. The movie itself is quite good though. It looks fantastic throughout with the underwater lab and the surroundings used. Statham is called to perform an underwater rescue after an undiscovered "deeper" part of the ocean is found beneath a thermal cloud at the bottom of the sea. I did like how it really isn't that unbelievable to think it could happen and that there would be life down there never seen before. And after they accidentally piss off the megalodon down there and it sneaks up through the cloud, now the crew must try and stop it before it starts destroying everything in its path. Even with such a basic plot, the movie manages to keep the story moving with a twist here and there (ok one, and I am sure you'll see it coming) but it just leads to more excitement. A good blockbuster type flick that keeps itself grounded in a plausible scenario albeit not very likely outcome of how to defeat it. Enjoyable nonetheless.
