Notes

My quick rating - 6,4/10. Set in a nicely created world by Ridley Scott, this fantasy tale does somewhat lean on the darker side of typical fairies and unicorns. This follows a very young Tom Cruise in a journey to save his princess, and defeat the Lord of Darkness (Tim Curry). Most likely the reason @deedee chose this flick for #shocktober was the very well done costume and makeup work throughout this flick. Even the mild mannered fairies have a little hint of evil in them. The story is vast and broad but not overdone, checking in at 94 minutes. There is little time wasted in this film and as usual, or since these days as Scott is a much more known name now, the directing is very precise and each scene draws you into the story. Being reviewed now is almost unfair but it does still stand the test of time. Might be a good one to show your kids if you want to give them a little scare for Halloween (or a chuckle to watch a wimpy Cruise take on the Lord of Darkenss).
