My quick rating - 4,8/10. I know this idea has been done before, basically the third movie within a month using "fest" in the title. This time it is not on prupose to use the haunted house to kill the ongoers but a group of escaped convicts who happen upon a haunted asylum being run and dispatch their own scares to those who visit. The underlying theme of the evil in the abandoned asylum is there to touch upon, but really doesn't do more than be a bit of ignored story piece. As it turns out, this just goes the route of a slasher flick and reminded me a lot of the movie "Funhouse" for some reason, but i'll be checking that one out later in the month to properly review. Their are a view good laughs in this flick and it plays through at a brisk 90 minutes but really doesn't stand out as anything other than every day slasher. Still done decent for the budget, and the director of the park being such an asshole adds to the humor aspect but at the end, just doesn't do much for you. Not bad, but can be skipped for your #shocktober viewings for much better movies. So far, "Bloodfest" wins out among them, we'll see about "Hellfest" when I can get my hands on it.
