My quick rating - 5,8/10. This movie had a damp and desolate atmosphere to it. Not sure if it was the apartment building where most of this took place, or just how the camera work showed you just enough to wonder what else is down that hall. Either way, the story is a ghost story with a man released from prison and moves into his moms place where she had passed away in. The curse that seems to be located in this place starts off small enough with little things but gets progressively worse as his fighting neighbors and other occurrences start effecting his life, the main one being his constantly fighting neighbors that finally force him to call the police to investigate.....an empty apartment. After this, then things get weird. I suppose finding his mothers place all musty with broken fingernails on the piano and scratches up and down the walls wasn't strange enough for him. The story itself is crafted out nicely and really does have some unsettling moments. I guess this was a remake of a Philipino horror movie called "Sigsaw" which I have not seen nor heard of, so I can't compare, which may be good. To me this had a Japanese horror feel to it in the unsettling way things just get under your skin. If a fan of any of those things, or just ghost stories in general, I think you'll enjoy this one.
