Notes

My quick rating - 6,1/10. Very nice looking flick, if you like good scenery. Vast rolling hills, and forest area are filmed very nicely. Well, the story is about a group of friends who get together after losing a friend and go on a hiking trip. The friends death is covered in the very beginning of the movie, and only slightly impacts the story later on. Anyway, when one of them gets injured (and doesn't act it out very well) they need to take a shortcut through the forest to try and make it to civilization. Of course, that was a mistake. Here they stumble upon an evil lurking in the forest and must fight for their lives. I don't know anything about some folklore or mystical monsters in Sweden but this movie paints that picture for us. And the 4 main characters are acted out well which helps the viewer care what happens to them. Overall this was a pretty well made movie all around, and doesn't rely on gore or shock to be creepy and unsettling. If you get a chance, check it out. Since this was a netflix made movie, you should be able to find it with ease.
