My quick rating - 6,8/10. This may change after I see a copy that the dark scenes are visible. Ok, watched a blu ray version. My rating didn't really change, this was still a quality flick to add to the Tomb Raider series. They did a good job of going back before the initial trilogy to when she was younger, which leaves plenty of room to fill in with a few more movies if they chose to. The action looks great, and is somehwat original in a way you would expect to see in a video game. I am sure that wasn't an accident. Vickander looks and plays the part quite well. Not overly tough, or insanely acrobatic, just a good fit for the part. If you have played the first game of the new series (not the original ones on playstation) then you have a good idea of the story. Lara gets stranded on an island where her father had vanished 7 years prior and she has gone looking for him. As expected, he went looking for a treasure, although here it is actually a tomb of an ancient woman who holds a secret. I won't elaborate further on what it is. Overall, this all plays out very well, and I can see a sequel or two in the future.
