My quick rating - 5,7/10. Really not bad although I am sure there is plenty to dissect as far as continuity goes. But I don't mind, for the movie itself it was pretty entertaining. The special effects are done well and even though some points seemed fluff, it was still visually enticing. How they attempted to work this into the mythos of the first Cloverfield is the strange part. I really am on the fence of if this is a designed thing, or a comlpetely different movie they just slapped the Cloverfield thing into for the name. Again, watched it for the enjoyment, and wasn't all that disappointed, just a bit of polishing on the acting and story, and you would be all good.
