My quick rating - 5,7/10. I am not sure if it is just because of how many of these spy-comedy romantic flix there have been lately but I seem to just be seeing them all in the same light. Sure they are entertaining, typically they are looking very good due to the big budget streamers behind them and they have been cast well for the same reason. But after it is over I just think "Didn't I just see that recently?" This time around, we get a little role reversal with the lovely Ana de Armas as our petite spy and Chris Evans as the hunky wimp. I throw those descriptive words in for a reason. Taking Armas seriously in the fight scenes is a difficult sell and Evans is doing all he can to NOT be Captain America. When you do remove them from the action sequences, their on screen chemistry does work well and provides some laughs along with it. I especially liked the scene where they were able to work in Anthony Mackie, John Cho, and Sebastian Stan. Creative and a nice nod to the Marvel ties. The locations were lush and often captivating to look at. And how they seamlessly worked these spots into the action worked nicely. I just wish they could've figured out the tone of this movie a bit more decisively. It never could commit to being comedy or all out action which for the type of movie is fine, but the way it teetered just didn't feel right. Later on in the flick, they had a strange Ryan Reynolds cameo that they should've done so much more with and I felt a bit cheated with the most opportunity on that one. "Ok, this finale is laughable. I don't do spoilers but I want to so bad LOL." I said that out loud during the movie so I typed it here long before finishing this review. It was so over the top absurd that I had to knock the score down. This isn't blue men on an alien planet so why are we trying to go so overboard with this ending. Keep it in the realm of possible in scope of real life physics, please. Getting past that ending though, the whole package was entertaining enough and looks to be heading toward sequel territory. I'll be fine with that, just hope they can do a bit more to get this one out of the rut where all the others seem to be sitting.
