3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN is an inspired half-hour comedy series farcically dealing with the human condition set in the fictional city of Rutherford, Ohio. This gentle-hearted series stars John Lithgow as the High Commander of an investigative team sent to Earth on a mission to learn everything about humans and their so-called advanced civilization. Described by its producers as "Carl Sagan meets the Marx Brothers," 3rd Rock has a clever, distinct point of view seen through the extraterrestrial team who has no other worldly powers except absolute truthfulness.

Sally, Harry and Tommy experience Dick's replacement is very aggravating while they don't know Dick is still trapped in the basement.
The Solomons have freed Dick and now he's after his replacement.
Dick feels he has to tell Mary he's an alien. They all go to a sci-fi convention.
Sally and Mr. Randall are having a conflict and August tests Tommy's loyalty to her.
Mary doesn't want everybody to know she and Dick have a relationship, which Dick doesn't understand. Sally gets a fine, but officer Don fixes it.
Harry runs for city council after he's mistaken for an activist.
It's homecoming weekend and everybody is excited about the game, except for Dick.
Against Tommy's will, Dick enlists him in a school for gifted students. Sally meets a special guy in a different kind of bar.
Mrs. Dubcek asks the Solomons to babysit her grandson. Dick takes care of Mary's fish when she's away.
It's Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, the Solomons don't have a clue what Thanksgiving is. Mrs. Dubcek and her daughter Vicky help them.
Dick desperately tries to find out how he can be funny.
The Solomons experience their first Christmas.
Dick quits his job at the university and Harry loses his memory.
Dick directs a school play Tommy wants to be in, but makes him the prop guy.
Dick sprains his ankle while he's doing Mary a favor and she feels guilty.
Sally meets Michel, a cute French guy who asks her to marry him.
Dick feels his relationship with Mary is in a rut.
Dick has run over a chipmunk and he starts to ban everything that's made of animals.
Harry teaches Dick how to become a real man so he won't be whipped by Mary anymore.
With Dick's help, Mary gets the opportunity to get in with Rutherford's high society.
Dick has to take sensitivity classes and Harry's fling Vicki is back.
When an offended Nina quits as Dick's secretary, he gives Harry the job.
Sally stands up to Mark Hamill who unknowingly has taken the Solomons place in a restaurant and becomes a local hero.
A smart and shy librarian at school is attracted to Dick.
Dick experiences his first nightmare and the Solomons think he's gone mad.
Dick and Sally are sober again and are informed they are all going back to the home planet for emergency maintenance.
